About 613 Locksmith
A local team that treats every callout the way we would want our own family treated at 2am: fast, honest, tidy, and on your side from the first ring to the final turn of the key.
Local locksmiths, not a faceless call centre
Search for a locksmith in Sydney and you will find dozens of sites that look local but route your call to a national booking centre, which then sells the job to whoever is nearest and cheapest. We built 613 Locksmith to be the opposite: a genuinely local business, where the person who answers the phone works for us, knows these streets and stands behind the job.
We started with one van, one phone and a simple observation. The trade had a trust problem. Quoted prices doubled on the doorstep, fifteen minute ETAs meant ninety, and perfectly good locks were drilled because it was quicker than picking them. For over 12 years we have grown the old fashioned way, by doing the opposite of all three, one local door at a time.
Most of our work still comes from neighbours telling neighbours. The family we let back in at midnight in Marrickville recommends us to the strata manager down the road, who calls us for the whole building, whose tenant calls us when they lose their car keys in Parramatta. That is what being a local locksmith means to us: every job is the next job's reference.
Six things every local customer can count on
These are not slogans on a wall. They are the rules every 613 Locksmith technician works by, on every job, at any hour.
Local first
Local technicians, local knowledge and a local phone number answered by our own team. When you call, you are talking to the people who will turn up.
The price we say is the price you pay
A realistic range on the phone, a fixed price on site before any work starts, and no surprise fees on the invoice. Ever.
Licensed and ID checked
Every technician carries a NSW security licence and photo ID, shown at the door without being asked. We check your ID in return, for your protection.
Open, do not destroy
Non destructive entry first, on every lockout. Drilling is the last resort, and you hear about it before it happens.
Respect for your home
Shoes wiped, drop sheets down, offcuts and old hardware taken away. We leave your door working better than we found it, and your hallway cleaner.
Genuinely 24/7
Nights, weekends and public holidays. A lockout at 3am on Boxing Day gets the same answer, the same honesty and the same price structure as one at 10am on a Tuesday.
A day in the life of a local Sydney locksmith
No two days are the same, but a typical stretch on the road looks something like this. It is the best way we know to show you what we actually do.
- 2:10 AMLocked out after a late shift
A nurse finishing a night shift finds her keys still in the staff room. We are at her door in the Inner West in under half an hour, the deadlatch is picked in minutes, and nothing is damaged. She is asleep before 3.
- 7:30 AMRekey before the removalists arrive
A young family picks up the keys to their first home. Before the truck pulls up, every lock in the house is rekeyed to one new key, so nobody from the previous owners, agents or tradies can walk back in.
- 10:15 AMHandover on a local new build
A builder hands over a renovated terrace. We switch the construction keying to the owner's keys, so every trade key on site stops working the moment the owners take possession.
- 1:40 PMCar keys lost at the shopping centre
A tradie's only ute key disappears somewhere between the hardware store and the food court. We cut and program a new key in the car park and remove the lost one from the vehicle's memory, so it can never start the ute again.
- 5:00 PMStaff changeover at a local business
A café owner has a manager leave without returning keys. We rekey the front, rear and office doors after close, issue new restricted keys and update the key register. Trading is not interrupted for a minute.
- 9:45 PMSmart lock for an elderly neighbour
A daughter wants her mum to stop hiding a key under the doormat. We fit a keypad lock, set codes for the family and the carer, and show Mum how it works three times, without a hint of hurry.
We understand the whole door, not just the lock
Our team comes from building, construction and home services. That matters more than most people realise. A lock is only as good as the door it sits in, the frame it is screwed into and the way the house moves around it.
Because we have hung doors, fitted frames and worked on local building sites, we can tell the difference between a failing lock and a door that has dropped on its hinges, a frame that has moved with the seasons or a strike plate that was never fitted properly in the first place. That saves you money, because you only pay to fix what is actually wrong.
- Construction keying and handover for local builders and renovators
- Fire rated door hardware advice for strata buildings
- Door, frame and hinge adjustments that fix the cause, not the symptom
- Tenant changeovers and maintenance for local property managers
Local knowledge you cannot get from a call centre
Sydney homes are not all the same, and neither are their locks. Victorian terraces in Paddington and Glebe often still have original mortice locks behind beautiful heritage doors. Federation homes across the Inner West have timber that swells every humid summer. Apartment blocks in Parramatta and the CBD have fire rated entry doors with strict hardware rules. New estates in the Hills and the South West come with builder grade locks that rarely last.
Knowing that before we arrive means we bring the right parts, quote accurately on the phone and finish most jobs in a single visit. It is the quiet advantage of using a local locksmith who works these suburbs every day.

"Tell the truth on the phone. Show your licence at the door. Agree the price before the work. Leave the door better than you found it. Those four rules built this business, and they are still how every local job is done."
