Rekeying & Key Cutting

Keep your locks, change your keys. The smart move after moving house, losing keys or ending a lease.

Rekeying & Key Cutting

Keep your locks. Change who can open them.

Rekeying changes the pins inside your existing locks so old keys stop working and a fresh set is cut on the spot. It costs a fraction of replacing hardware and is the single smartest thing to do when you move into a new place, because you have no idea how many copies of the old key exist or who has them. We can also key every lock in the house to one key, so your pocket stops jangling.

Rekeying & Key Cutting: common questions

Rekeying makes old keys useless, which solves the problem of unknown copies. It does not upgrade the lock itself. If the existing locks are low quality or worn we will tell you, and recommend a replacement only where it genuinely adds security.
In most homes, yes, as long as the locks share a compatible cylinder type. Where they do not, we can swap a cylinder or two so everything matches.
We only cut keys from an existing key in your hand or for locks we have verified you own. Cutting from photos or codes without verification is exactly how unauthorised copies get made.
